In this fun culinary workshop, participants see that everyday household ingredients can quickly transform into easy, satisfying snacks. Whether in a rut or having a food block, this workshop will help the creative juices flow and the inner scientist and/or chef come alive. I will demonstrate how to make the snacks. Each participant can sample the three different snacks that will be made. With words of encouragement and modeling, every participant will be given recipes and feel empowered to make a snack independently.

Worshop Outline:
Introduction (3 min)
Welcome participants and ask - has anyone heard of the Food Network? Well, this is the Snack Network, and we are highlighting super yummy snacks with great ingredients, skill, and positive thinking. Go into a little detail about the ingredients, skills, and positive thinking.

1st snack – Ants on a Log: I will model how to make ants on a log (celery, sunbutter and raisins). Growth Mindset talk – “It isn’t easy presenting in front of an audience, but I am taking deep breaths, not rushing, and smiling to myself saying “you got this, you can do it” which helps me get through and boosts my confidence.”
I will make 2 more snacks:
- chicken salad bites (canned chicken, vegan mayo, lemon on a ritz cracker or cucumber medallion)
- black bean burrito roll-up (mashed black beans, salsa on a tortilla or cracker optional: seasoned with hot chips)

I thank everyone for their participation and for being here! I review the 3 snacks we made together. I have a volunteer pass out the recipes to everyone. I ask who feels confident enough to try a snack recipe on their own and maybe share it with someone. I say - “I believe in each of you to try something new or do something you are passionate about – you have what it takes. You got this! You can do hard things! I believe in you! Keep being awesome!”
