Attention attendees: Online registration does not guarantee session access. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the session begins and check in with a volunteer to secure your spot. Thank you!

Participants will go on simulated backpack to get hands-on experience on how to recreate mindfully, learn how to build the perfect pack, and build survival tactics that keep the health of the group in mind.

Start/Intro

Orientation:
-Land Acknowledgment 5min
-Intro circle 5-10min
-Intro to backpacking 20-30min


Walk to stop 1 (0.36mi): 10 min

Stop 1:
15 min

-Refueling strategies/accessible/how to filter water from nearby stream with water filtration--gravity filter, pump filter, squeeze filter, iodine tablets.


Walk to stop 2 (0.15mi): 5min Shen lead


Stop 2: big shelter space
30-45 min

-How to set up camp sustainably
-Recreate responsibly in Snoqualmie Tribe Ancestral Lands Movement and how it relates to respecting wildlife habitats and protecting.
-What to do with your poop/how to keep waterways clean


Debrief:

10-15 min

-Provide digital toolkit QR code
-Give back backpacks and materials
