Welcome to the 2024 Refuge Outdoor Festival Camp Out! This event centers and uplifts Black, Indigenous, People of Color in the outdoors (white allies are welcomed). Take refuge, and do as much or as little as you would like!

Nature is full of different sounds from bird songs to the wind in the leaves. Take these sounds as inspiration to create a unique piece of art using the art medium of your choice. Materials we will provide: paper, pencils, crayons, color pencils, water colors, clip boards. Introduction (5 minutes) Sound mapping techniques (10 min) Mindfulness practice (5 minutes) Spread out in the area to create your own sound map (30) Wrap up and share out (10 min) By the end of this workshop, participants will have experienced the area from a different perspective. And leave feeling a sense of calm.
